Parent Coaching

Parent Coaches work directly with parents and their children to:

  • Teach skill development and create learning opportunities for parents with children with exceptionalities and behavioural issues using ABA techniques
  • Create learning opportunities for parents to hone their skills though modeling the appropriate reaction or skill in specific high-stress situations
  • Develop and improve communication skills between parents and their children
  • Offer psychosocial services to parents and their children
  • Create benchmark success points to track progress

Mentoring

Our mentoring program connects young people with Family Support Workers within their community who can offer guidance, support, and encouragement. Through positive role modeling and meaningful interactions, mentors help youth develop self-esteem, build life skills, and discover their passions. We carefully match mentors and mentees based on shared interests and goals, creating lasting relationships that empower young people to thrive.

During mentoring, our Family Support Workers work with children and youth with exceptionalities to:

  • Teach life skills
  • Provide guidance
  • Create goals to help each child or youth develop and achieve success.

Supervised Access & Exchange

We understand that separation or divorce can be a difficult time for families, especially for children. Our supervised access and exchange services provide a neutral and secure environment for children to maintain healthy relationships with both parents. Our trained staff supervise visits and facilitate safe exchanges, ensuring the well-being and emotional safety of all involved. We strive to minimize stress and conflict, allowing children to focus on building positive connections with their loved ones.

Supervised Access & Exchange is conducted by a trained and neutral Family Support Worker who provides supervision of access between children and a parent or relative. During Supervised Access & Exchange, Family Support Workers work to provide:

  • A safe, neutral, and child-focused setting for visits or exchanges between children and family members
  • Adequate supervision of children and all parties who have access to them during the exchange
  • Transportation to and from the visit
  • Foster Parent Forms to corroborate that adequate care was administered to children during the visit
  • Intervention if needed
  • Observation-based reports if requested.
